My name is Dinie. I love the look of vintage clothing, but unfortunatly I don't have the paycheck to afford it. Plus, the ones I can afford don't fit me anyways. I always find myself wondering if these women ever ate. So I decided to make my own. I began learning to sew with my mom. We made a few things and she just left it at that. Well, of course I was hooked so I bought my own machine and began to expand upon what I was taught. I love thread magazine it's so helpful in learning new skills. I read it alot in the early days, I still read it when I can. It is a great magazine, I just have a lot to do now with the homesteading. I also got frustrated alot more then too. Now I chalk it up to experience and rip it out and try again. Now I haven't made a million things and I've not been sewing as long as some. But I try to learn someting new with everything I sew and I feel like I'm getting better as time goes on. I've completed more things that I'm proud of. And I hope to continue on this streak. My goal is to have a completely handmade wardrobe. I'm looking for someone to make me some shoes. (got some) Or maybe I'll work on that too eventually. :D
Update on the shoes. I bought a pair of custom boots that fit like a glove and they are SO warm. I'm still working on making a pair of my own one day.
Homesteading is what I am focusing on now. Sewing is a big part of that, but I will have more garding and DIY projects here as time goes on. I'm always going to love sewing. Also, I'm on pinterest.
My Husband and I bought 10 acres and a tri-floored house. It seems like two until you stop to think about it. I'll be posting more about the house and land soon.
